Verizon cancellage
Hey can anyone tell me how much it will cost me to cancel my Verizon contract (so I can get an iPhone)? It would normally expire in December.
Internets go!

Been contemplating canceling my Verizon account too. I think it’s a $175 early termination charge, if I remember correctly.

no ideas directly… but there’s a variety of ideas out there - it seems this has most all of them: ehow… sounds like if I were you I’d try 5, but who knows. I’m on 9 but then again, I’m not that fond of cell phones…

Wait until Dec.
What you will miss after leaving Verizon. A strong Signal every where. I have At&t and can’t even get signal in my house. Which probably wont be a problem for you city folks…
but in turn — yes - the iphone is awesome…

yea… I’d wait. The “new” iphone should be out by then. plus all the developers should hopefully have put out some pretty awesome programs for the iphone. and getting out of a contract can be pretty expensive too.
I have the touch and while pretty awesome, i wish i could be on the net from anywhere and anytime.

check fatwallet.com. i think verizon is doing another rate increase for either txt messages or fees. When they do those, you can call up and say that the five cent difference has ‘negative material affect’ on you, and would void the contract. My wife and I did this to get rid of verizon a year and a half ago. We went to sprint, had so many problems, I negotiated our way out of the contract. Back to verizon, but looking to find an out if the new iPhone is actually worth it. But yes, also just wait at least until after June/July for the ‘new’ iPhone to be out, hopefully.

Generally, when any phone service changes the terms of the contract, you have a grace period to get out of your agreement free of charge. They make it tricky to find these things out, but I have heard tell of sites tracking these things. Try ihateverizonwireless.dork or something like that.
