Achieved: Gmail 2.0
FINALLY. Uh! Why does it always take me a full week to get the newest google jamz? Scott always gets them way before me. EVEN THOUGH I (probably) INVITED HIM TO GMAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE.
But seriously folks. The new gmail looks almost identical — although they’ve tightened up the typography I think. It must be a bunch of little things, because it seems nicer to look at overall. The biggest improvements must be under the hood as it feels more responsive to my clix.
That word looks dirty.
I got it also. I like the cleaner urls. http://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox for inbox, http://mail.google.com/mail/#sent for sent, etc, etc. It also does seem a little more responsive.

I was one of the lucky ones to get it early, and the only difference I’ve noticed is that now in IE I get more “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? There are server requests pending.” errors. I would say it doesn’t happen as often in firefox, but as my school network doesn’t allow firefox to access the internet (EVEN WITH ALL THE CONNECTION SETTINGS CORRECT! BAH!!) I wouldn’t know.

I wish they would put the number of unread emails first in the title bar. Like “(2) Gmail - Inbox - email@gmail.com.” That way you’d still be able to see it with a zillion tabs open.

That would make entirely too much sense.
