Guys, Sonic is *so* good!!!
We just got back from Richmond’ sonly Sonic — in Chesterfield. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is on the tube and I’m pretty sure Wonka is singing about Sonic:
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it…
Anything you want to, do it…
Want to change the world, there’s nothing to it
Guys. You really can do anything you want: you can add nacho cheese or chili to *any* menu item. WTF AWESOME. I had an Extra Long Bacon Cheddar Cheesesteak, cheese fries, and a vanilla malt. Valerie, after her disparaging remarks, said going to Sonic was “maybe the best idea you’ve ever had.”
Also you eat in your car it’s like a vacation.
OMG EXCELLENT.
i have good news for you my friend. i have the inside word (or maybe it isn’t *that* inside) that some guy is opening about 12 new sonics all around richmond. i’m pretty sure one is under construction now up near virginia center commons. i do not know if any are going in the city, but i might be able to find out.
also, i *love* their commercials. i make my wife be quiet when one comes on. seriously. we’re pretty sure i’m the dumb guy in those commercials.

wo, i posted before i read val’s stuff. i mean seriously, those commercials, i love them. i think my favorite is this (couldn’t find video after embarrassingly short search, someone please fine):
Hubby: You know, I think you can tell a lot about a person by the drink they choose.
Wife: (skeptically) Really?
Hubby: Yeah, like mine’s a blue coconut slush mixed with a little vanilla grape. Means I’m awesome. You’ve got a peach iced tea. What’s that say about you?
Wife: (icily) That I’m an adult.
Hubby: (smirking) Exactly.
amazing! except i never eat there. soooo, entertaining, but not effective? ‘they’ say, ’tis the story of modern advertising.

They’ve tried Richmond before, I remember a Sonic at Robious and Huguenot back in the early 1990s.

Yeah the awesome thing about the Sonic in Chesterfield is that it is in the same parking lot/shopping center as the old Sonic — which is now Jack’s Restaurant or something. Hilarious.

There’s one in Colonial Heights too! Love me some cherry limeades and their onion rings are the best…. ever.
