Jerry Falwell is a trustworthy scientist

by: Ross

Haha! Just kidding!

From the Falmeister himself:

Now, I’m certainly not a scientist. But if one looks past the superficial reporting of the mainstream media and examines the many alternative scientific views on global warming, it is apparent that the earth frequently experiences warming and cooling trends. It appears to me — and I have been intently studying this subject — that we are now in a warming trend.

Oh Jerry.

  1. As the son of a meteorologist, this kind of thing bugs me to no end! I’m actually kind of amused that they’ve taken to calling these people “Global Warming Deniers” in the same way they call people who deny the Holocaust “deniers.”

  2. i’m just proud of the little guy for not blaming the gays. he’s grown so much!

  3. also check out this other badass quote by him:

“[Jimmy Carter's] message of peace and reconciliation under almost all circumstances is simply incompatible with Christian teachings as I interpret them. This ‘turn the other cheek’ business is all well and good but it’s not what Jesus fought and died for.”

i’m no saint augustine here, but didn’t jesus like invent turn the other cheek?

  4. It’s kind of sad how global warming has simply become a fad that you either “believe in” or don’t, rather than an issue of scientific inquiry. Especially when there’s so many other reasons to cut down on emissions besides global warming.

  5. Like saving money!!! Who doesn’t like money!

  7. Personally I won’t believe in global warming until I know that Al Gore hunts his food and lives in a mud hut. Otherwise he’s a hypocrite, which means that everything he says is false.

  8. turn the other cheek is when one is attacked. mercy should be given to those you attack. the difference between the two is being walked on. i don’t think as a Christian one must sit idle from the great, current discussions of the day. however i DO hold circumspect someone who is vocal about their calling (ie, saving the ‘lost’) and then spending their finite time and energy on current events rather than fulfilling that calling.

how about a kyoto protocol where everyone gives up a % of their output/emissions levels; and not a protocol that asks much of the west, while asking little to nothing from developing countries like China and India, who also have little in the way of environmental standards?

at the same time, a leader must begin a new agreement (US) if the current one is not to their liking.

Van, you can’t ’save the lost’ if they’re all drowning in the rising waters, grasping only to the backs of polar bear carcasses!? falwell FOREVER! -saving souls and the planet! and hitler and gore!! all of my heroes are right here!

  10. I’m sorry Wolf, I forgot you were there. Forgive me if I don’t shake hands.

Wolf replies, “Doc Holiday, I didn’t know you was back in town.”

You may go now, just leave that shotgun.

Because we all know that this administration will get tough on corporate interests.

Seriously, when are people going to realize that regulation is exactly what corporations desperately want?

We will never get business to act in environmentally sound ways until they change the way they do business. If you don’t think that corporate lobbying and regulation is how they make their buck, you’re just reading too much Rolling Stone.
