RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE … and rescue my daughter

Ten doll-hairs to the first person that can name the titular reference. To follow in my #2 All Time Richmond Blogger wife’s footsteps, here are some things that have been going on in my life lately.

  • I got Guitar Hero 2. This was kind of a ridiculous purchase. Mostly because in a couple days I am going to drop 350$ on a Nintendo Wii, controller, et al. But seriously I am rocking some heavy shit. Everyone is invited over, especially those with a second guitar-controller
  • Like my wife, I saw Borat and got yelled at by a cop. Last time I checked I was twenty-five and didn’t need to be getting yelled at by cops.
  • The first ever Richmond Bros tackle football game was rained out on Sunday. I figure if we had had some momentum going we probably would have played — but not the first time. This Sunday, 1pm. FOOTBALL.
  • I’ve been playing a ton of Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. I am *into* that game. Reading has taken a back seat (and will for a while) for me.

    tackle football is crazy bc someone always ends up wanting to fight someone for tackling too hard. like on point break, when keanu reeves tackled patrick swayze into the ocean. but i know it’s just too fun to resist.

  3. The last time that I played tackle football, I broke my collarbone. This was a while ago; I was older then than you are now, dammit.

  4. We always played “modified” tackle with the guys I played with in MD. It basically means no Ray Lewis type hits unless someone wants to get hit that way(believe it or not a couple guys do). It also means that the play is done when the offensive player stops trying to get ahead, and not when they are on the ground(avoids the “hold them up while the other guy kills them” kind of thing). It worked well and we never had any major injuries. I highly recommend it. I’ll miss next week since I’ll be out of town, but you can count me in for the following week.

  6. I mean, last time i played it seemed that people aren’t strong enough to break tackles so all you had do do was grab people and they would give up and go down. I’m so in.
