CYCLING: It is awesome.
by Ross Catrow
So this Sunday I rode fifty miles on a bicycle. Which I feel is pretty crazy because it makes me goal of cycling to Williamsburg seem realistic and doable. At the same time it made any thoughts I had of cycling to the beach pedal off into the sunset(ha!). Ah well.
In addition to longer rides on Sundays I am riding between 10-20 miles on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7am. The Tuesday ride is a slower paced All Ages ride while the Thursday ride is intended to be a little faster paced (although this isn’t always so).
Consider this your open invitation to come out and join us at 7AM. We meet in the parking lot behind 1205 W. Main St and usually have at least three riders — we’re looking for more though! We leave promptly at 7, so be there or be square and sad and lonely.
PS. I made a pirate-esque typo above, but I think I will keep it in there.
Is that the parking lot behind PharrOut? I am trying to think of a way where I could do half the ride (since my house is practically the half way mark), I guess I would just have to get Kate to drop me rather than go there myself. I will seriously consider joining you next week.
I can personally vouch for the fact that ross rode at least 38 miles on sunday, because i was there for those, and they kicked my ass.
But the thing is, I wasn’t sore. I felt great the next day. So that was cool.
Yeah it is the parking lot behind PharrOut. I mean you could always ride out here meet us and then head home when we pass your house. That way you would get a full ride, it would just be staggered.
Beware of this though: sometimes we don’t ride to the Three Chopt Ukrops, like yesterday. But if you showed up, we would certainly ride out there.
Maybe you could stay late/go in early on another day to leave Tuesday mornings open?
The only problem with me riding to where you are first is timing. I’m not good at estimating how long it will take me to get there.
We can play it by ear for a while and see how it works out.
Uh… Tuesday 7am. cricket, cricket…
Heh, 60% thunderstorms had me confused this morning. Hope you had a nice ride?
ouch.
I mean no offense intended. Daniel normally is there too, but overslept.
ouch -> that sucks.
The sky was clear and blue, but i guess it could have stormed. I didn’t ride by myself, I just drove back home.
