Family is awesome

by: Ross

I’d like to direct everyone to the soon-to-be newest member of our family’s blog. Our family rocks so hard.

Also, family, are we the “William’s Family?” I always get confused.

  1. Heh. The first post is even funnier if you visualize that conversation between those two guys. It is kind of making me laugh inside.

  2. I guess it depends on your perspective. If I just look at you and Val, you’re the Catrow family. I kinda see williams as Steve, Jen, Sidney, Joe, Gail and those folks (Carl & Diane, etc.), and the Harris’ as Robin, Val, Bryan, Susan, Gene and their spouses. I guess? That’s how it looks from here anyway.

  3. it matters who the patriarch is. like who is the respected elder person from whence everyone sprang forth? whose house do people gather at? who works the grill at the bbqs? whoever that person is, it’s the family.

  4. well that used to say “it’s the [his last name] family” with &lt &gt but the “html” was stripped by wordpress.

  5. how does that work with a split family? ’cause now the patriarch and the matriarch are both remarried and gatherings are at different places depending on the occasion. Christmas has been referred to as the “tri-cities trek”. I dunno.

  6. hmmm maybe you could pick a historical figure that everyone admires, and then claim descent from him/her. that’s what they did in the roman times. just say you are all descended from apollo or something.

then you have the added benefit of having a badass family name, like THE APOLLYONS. you could fight crime!

  7. Being that I am an actual member of this family, we refer to my mom’s side of the family as the Williams family, even though only 1/3 people within that category have the last name Williams. I think we do this because it is the last name my mother and all of her siblings were born into. Within the Williams family, we have the last names Hall, Wright, Walters, Harris, Catrow, and Hudgins at one point (and there was only 1 person who had that last name). My dad’s side of the family is the Harris side, with the majority of the people having the last name Harris at at least some point, and some with the last name Russo. It’s a crazy world these mixed families make.

  8. If we were a clan though, I think we would be the Williams Clan.

  9. Be the Williams family!!! That way I’m in it! Let’s change this post to the legal battle over me that would occur if Ross and Val split…I heart that discussion.

  10. Since it’s so difficult to describe the fam dam, I vote for a symbol. It worked for Prince for a while; it can work for us. And if we don’t like it, we can just change our name like Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, Diddy … what the? Valeree Lynn is the artist of the family, so I say she should draw it.

  11. I get Stephanie if Ross and I split up. He gets Shooter. I get Zapp. None of them will have the last name Williams-even Stephanie.

  12. Hudgins!!!!

    — Sarah

  13. May I ask what my last name will be?

    — stephanie anne

  14. Harris maybe?

    — RMSzero

  15. Come october, there will be a Jones, AND a HarrisHyphenJones added to the mix. What shall we do then?

    — Robinitaface

  16. Stephanie’s will not have a last name. She will be like Madonna or Shakira. With better rhythm.

As for the family symbol, I suggest a spear. Or a bull’s skull.

    — Valeree Lynn

  17. Haha yess. She could be a Brazilian soccer player.

    — RMSzero

  18. HarrisHyphenJones is crazy, all those caps make it look Norwegian

  19. The Family Symbol! I’ve got it! How about a Giant Cactus?!?!?!

    — Robinitaface

  20. Haha! Only if we can modify our Giant Cactus to wear red ribbons at Christmastime!

  21. I heard Robin Williams’ new flick Man of the Year, isn’t doing so well at the box office. In any case, I am definately going to see this movie. I’ve loved Robin ever since I first saw him on Mork and Mindy.
