Super Bowl commercials

Google video has kindly created a nice page of all the commercials for your viewing pleasure.

Overall I thought it was a weak set of spots. The thing that irritates me is the slap stick kicker at the end of each commercial. I thought lots of the commercials were decent but then added a lame slap stick joke on the end.

Also one of my friends said during the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty commercial “She’s not beautiful, she’s ugly.” Humorous.

  1. I liked the dove commercial a lot. I really appreciate what Dove is trying to do to build self esteem for girls.

    I liked the fed-ex caveman commercial the best I think.

  2. I liked that one too, but they pulled the same slapstick bit at the end of the spot. Kicking the dinosaur was hilarious though.

  3. Yeah, it was stupid when the guy got squashed at the end… My favorite was Sprint’s theft deterant. Maybe it is slapstick, but at least it isn’t shy about it

  4. i saw something on boingboing i think about the caveman thing and they had done brain scans of people watching it and there is this huge spike in activity at the part where i guess he gets squashed or whatever.

    so who are you guys to say you are better than SCIENCE???

  5. Yeah, i saw that, what does that even mean? Your brain suddenly cares about TV when a caveman gets squashed? Or just that it was surprising?
