RVABlogs feature request

PharrOut is going to redo/upgrade the ol’ RVABlogs one of these days. What I need from y’all is feature requests. We have some pretty neat ideas bouncing around, but I’m sure there is stuff we haven’t thought of yet. So if you would drop a comment with your request, gripe, whatever it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. I mentioned before a third column, where you can do meta-content (like interviews or profiles or whatever).

    There should be a place or page where each contributing blog gets a short description.

    How about some means of associated an icon with each blog, to differentiate the posts?

    I’m pulling these ideas from houseblogs.net, another blog-compiling site, if you’d like to see examples.

  4. the main problem i have with the rvablogs internets webpage is the criminal underuse of the blink tag.

  5. categories (ie make so that I can avoid the politics)
    or pickup the other tags that a piece is published with and make use of that somehow

    “john”’s bit on the politics is quite germaine, and categories might indeed be in order.. for sure…

    but at the same time I enjoy the rawness of the site… What to do? What to do?

    However - perhaps -sublimating the images- might do a /true/ service to the bandwidth encumbered - we’re still out here… (i.e. they don’t publish quickly….)

    Or independently, Something perhaps like that which is pointed toward the Safari RSS crowd?

    Smaller font size (default) would be my biggest request outright; see more, less page…

    Indeed, thanks for the RVA site outright, and keep up the good work, here and with the Richmond Crime Site and other endevours in the works - likewise, indeed. Gracias Muchas!
