Richmond 5th most dangerous city EVER?

The RTD reports that the Morgan Quitno Press’s City Crime Rankings rates Richmond as the “5th most dangerous city.” Wtf?
Obviously something is going on with population groupings or per-capita or something in this study. There is no way that Richmond is more dangerous than DC. No way at all. If someone — not it — wants to figure out the exactly what the study says I’d love you for life. There is more info on their website, but it was hard to parse.

I’m totally not sure what is even going on in this thread, but I totally agree with the previous comment. Richmond VA is the very best.

Henrico and Chesterfield county= not so bad
DC has more crime but not per person. As my ignorant friend above mentioned there are plenty of bad neighborhoods (and he only mentioned the areas North of the James). Gang violence is a problem as well as random bodies. I would say the hood is the hood and I don’t plan to live there and the whole Mid-Atlantic region appeared way too many times to only be comprised of 2 1/2 states

The reason why your so confused is because your right DC does have a high murder rate. but per capita means for every 100,000 people. the national average is approximately 8 murders for every 100,000 people or 8 murders per capita. Richmond is a city of 100,000 people and averages close to 60 murders, not including the niggaz who get dumped in the bay or the bodies that dont get picked up in north richmond because niggaz is to scary to roll through the hood just to pick up a body. so the murder rates are determined by how many times over the national average your city is this why they rate Richmond so high because the murder rate is like 12 times higher than the national average. Richmond aint no joke… as a matter a fact the bay area aint no joke. so whether your in south side, Central(iron triangle), or the north (narf) Richmond, there is a possiblity you might not make it out alive because there aint no suckaz in the rich just dope dealaz and killaz. niggaz got choppers for the beef if you want funk. its nothin. richmond cali always been crazy even back in the 80′s and it still has not change and won’t change till the day i die and yes i been to south side richmond and the north side along you keep your self you iight…..i been to all the the little hoodie hood projects in oakland and frisco oh wait i just cruise on by during the day!!!!! while the crooks/gangbanger were all sound alseep…..i would say the only place i could actually say that look str8 out ghetto thats the housing projects in new orleans before they just started tearing dem on down.
