Google Maps Contest
by Ross Catrow
While scrolling around the planet today (Google has recently included satellite images of distant lands into Google Maps) I came across several places I would never want to live. So there be the contest (no prizes). Where in the world is Carmen SanDiego would you not like to live?
Here is a good example. Or maybe here.

ROME (AFP) – The heatwave that hit much of Europe in 2003 killed almost 20,000 people throughout Italy, more than double the previous official estimate of the toll and taking it above that recorded in neighbouring France.
The report by the Istat institute found that 20,000 more people died in the country between July and September 2003 than in the same period of the previous year.
The 2003 heatwave killed an estimated 15,000 mostly elderly people in France, causing a political shockwave in a country that prides itself on its public health system.
SO APPARENTLY ITALY IS ON THE LIST (IF YOU’RE OLD)

Both of those “heres” are the same place.
I didn’t know what it was until I zoomed out.
Today I looked at Uganda.
Google maps amazes me of death.
i’m in the middle of a Utah desert right now…
how fitting.
Oops I fixed the links! Neither were supposed to be Paris. I would enjoy living in Paris for a limited period of time.
the time i was able to endure it was appx 4-5 days.
those ones were harder to guess. that would be a fun google game though, give picture and then try to guess where it is, and you get fewer points for every zoom out you have to do.
